Roman's Weirdos
Roman's Weirdos is a five-piece punk band dedicated to performing and preserving the repertoire of Los Angeles' premier punk band, The Weirdos.
Emerging in the spring of 1977, The Weirdos led the first wave of bands of the LA punk scene along with The Germs and The Screamers. The Weirdos were loved for their unique thrift store-neon-art school look and legendary shows. Besides their loyal following, worldwide, the Weirdos inspired many musicians and bands that emerged during the late 70’ LA music scene and over the years up to the present.
Roman's Weirdos founding band member, Cliff Roman, was the principal songwriter for the Weirdos. He composed and arranged the Weirdos’ songs along with original members John Denney (vocalist) and his brother, the late, Dix Denney (lead guitar.) Cliff is now joined by fellow local musicians Jeff Wolfe of the Furys on lead vocals, John Dimambro of Down By Law on lead guitar, bassist Danny Dorman of Circle One, and Italian born drummer Paolo Dell'Olio.
Roman's Weirdos has been performing locally since 2022. The band performs an exclusive set of Weirdos songs including favorites such as A Life of Crime, Destroy All Music, We Got the Neutron Bomb, Solitary Confinement and Helium Bar.
The band's sound has roots in Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, Surf, 60's Garage Rock, and bands such as The New York Dolls, The Stooges and The Ramones.
